A few weeks back, I sent out a survey to my list and community.
The goal was simple:
Figure out which workshop to create next.
I suggested three different topics:
1) Ideation (how to come up with story ideas fast)
2) Thank You Page offers (how to monetize immediately after someone subscribes)
3) Ad copy (how to write ads that convert cold traffic)
Now, if you'd asked me to predict the results...
I would've bet money that ad copy or TYP offers would dominate.
But you know what actually won?
Ideation.
With the general list, it wasn't even close.
And with community members, it came in a strong second.
Which came as a pretty big surprise, tbh.
So I decided to run with it first since I knew it would also be the easiest for me to crank out.
(Plus, the people had spoken!)
Anyway, moral of the story is:
You are not your audience.
What seems obvious or valuable to you might not be what your audience actually needs right now.
It pays to ask people what they want because the answer may surprise you.
Most creators make assumptions about what their audience wants instead of just asking them.
They spend weeks creating something...
Only to launch it to crickets.
