Confession:
Writing the original PDF version of my book and getting it ready to sell was relatively quick and painless.
It took me less than 30 days.
But that’s because I started out with the transcripts from a video course I’d just created.
Those transcripts served as the nucleus for the book…
Which got me ~60% of the way there.
I still ended up adding a good chunk of new content…
Not to mention polishing the original material until I felt it was (finally) ready for primetime.
All this to say:
You’d think publishing it on Amazon would be pretty simple too, right?
Wrong.
Instead, the process has been slow and painful.
Most of this has been related to the print copy.
I went through a total of 7 versions of the paperback before I was finally satisfied with it.
(forcing me to re-read my book approximately 9,784 times… and at this point, I’m not sure I’d survive another lol)
Beyond that:
Learning the ins and outs of the KDP ecosystem has sucked up a lot more mindshare than I intended it to.
Anyway, moral of the story is:
Publishing a book on Amazon in both Kindle AND paperback has been an endurance exercise.
Yet as with all endurance training…
The end result is increased work capacity.
The ability to do more…
Through both improved efficiency and more conditioned musculature.
And the same thing applies to business.
One of my strongest-held convictions is the need to move fast, especially when operating a direct response business…
But you also have to be able to sustain your pace over the long haul.
Otherwise, you’ll crumble.
Hence the need to develop your publishing endurance alongside your fast-twitch fibers.
And luckily, writing a book isn’t the only way to do it.
Another way is:
To write a story-driven email every day and send it to your list.
In fact, I’d be hard-pressed to come up with a better exercise for building consistency and proficiency as a writer.
So if you’re ready to kickstart your next training cycle…
Or if you’d simply like to see how the fruits of my publishing labor paid off…

P.S:
I’ve recorded a special bonus video for anyone who buys the book on Amazon during launch week.
Inside, I reveal the 3 ads I’ve used to sell 500+ 1,200+ copies of the book over the past few months.
I go through each ad line-by-line to explain how they work…
Plus show you all of the different ad creatives I’ve run and what I’ve learned from them.
If you’re curious to learn more about how to grow your list with ads, this will be super helpful.
To get access, all you have to do is:
Send a screenshot of your Amazon receipt to jim@newsletterfreedom.me by 11:59 PM EST on Monday, February 17.
Then I’ll send you a link to the bonus video.
