Happy Wednesday!
Today is the first day of October and Q4.
That means there’s only 3 months left in 2025.
I find moments like these helpful both for reflecting on the past and planning for the future.
Looking ahead comes easily to most people…
Yet I find reflection is where most of the opportunities for growth and insight are.
So, to reflect on the quarter that just ended, I ask myself:
- What was my top priority?
- What did I optimize for?
This may sound like two ways to ask the same question…
But it’s not.
Instead, it’s designed to highlight alignment (or lack thereof) between what I said and what I did.
- My top priority = the thing I *say* mattered most.
- What I optimized for = the thing that actually mattered most based on my actions.
For example:
If you said that “growing your list” was your top business priority in Q3…
But you didn’t test any new ads…
Create any new offers…
Launch any new funnels…
Or commit seriously to any of the other things you know you need to be doing to grow your list…
Well, that pretty much says it all, doesn’t it?
Your actions always tell the real story.
Not your words.
Because we all have a black belt in BS’ing ourselves.
This is how you prevent “drift” in your life and business…
Where you slowly veer off course but don’t realize it till you’re way off the mark.
By reflecting back and taking a hard look at what you said vs what you did…
And doing everything you can to close any gaps you can find.
Anyhow, this email was a bit more cerebral than my usual fare…
But hopefully you still enjoyed it.
Cause that’s all I got for ya today :)

P.S:
Next week, tickets will go on sale for a new live workshop I’m doing called:
“Insane Ideation”
Inside, I’ll be revealing how to generate 30 conversion-focused story ideas in 30 minutes without wasting time on market research or audience interviews.
Because not all stories are created equal.
So if you’ve ever struggled to come up with strong story ideas…
Failed to make sales from your list when the chips are down…
Or wished you could seamlessly connect the dots between your story and your offer without sounding salesy or sacrificing conversions…
Then you won’t want to miss this one.
Stay tuned for more :)
