Read an article in the WSJ this week that caught my eye:
It was about how the white-collar job market has gotten so brutal that job seekers are now PAYING recruiters to find them jobs.
Yep.
The traditional recruiting model has been flipped on its head.
Instead of companies paying recruiters to find talent... desperate job hunters are shelling out cash hoping someone can get them hired.
One guy paid 20% of his first month's salary after landing a position through a "reverse recruiter."
Another paid $400 to have someone customize his résumé and apply to 50 jobs in two weeks.
Result?
Zero interviews.
SUPER! Lol
Apparently, the average job search is now approaching six months according to federal data.
And some of these reverse recruiting services are charging $1,500 per month... plus 10% of your first-year salary once you land a gig.
Bit steep IMO…
But then again, if you need a job and continue to strike out…

Moral of the story is:
Relying on a 9 to 5 job leaves you dependent on someone else.
Your livelihood is at their whims.
