I made him $7.1 million with email (here’s what he said)

True story:

One of my first freelance copywriting clients back in 2016 was a guy named Cole Gordon.

At the time, he was running an ad agency and looking for copy help.

We hit it off immediately…

So I continued to write for him in various capacities over the next 6-7 years…

Helping with emails, ads, content, funnels, etc.

Now, I wouldn’t be surprised if you recognize his name today…

Because since then, Cole’s gone from newbie entrepreneur to industry leader…

And his company, Closers.io, has grown into a $35 million dollar per year juggernaut…

With a client rolodex that includes:

- Tony Robbins
- Dean Graziosi
- Frank Kern
- Ryan Serhant
- And many more

Not to mention he runs a TON of ads…

So there’s a pretty decent chance you’ve seen him in your feed.

Anyhow:

In 2021, I joined the company officially and took over all their email marketing.

And over the following year, I helped them drive a total of $7.1 million in sales from email.

Which was pretty cool.

This was by far the highest level I’d played the game at.

And the experience taught me a lot.

But I was always upfront with Cole about the fact that I wanted to build my own business…

So after a year, I let him know that time had come.

And on my last teamwide meeting…

Cole stopped to give me a big shout-out in front of the entire team.

Even said he “owed me for life.”

Something I couldn’t have scripted better myself lol
