do you need to be a tech wizard to set up the skill stack?

Because I am not a technical person.

And I’d rather stick a fork in my eye than work in a coding terminal like some computer hacker in a 90s movie.

Luckily, the name is very misleading.

Even though it’s called “Claude Code”...

You still interact with it in the exact same way as the regular version of Claude:

By chatting with it.

Nevertheless, let me walk you through how to set it up.

Here’s what you’ll need before you begin:

- A laptop or desktop (Mac or Windows)
- A paid Claude subscription ($20/m or above)
- The Claude desktop app from Anthropic
- 10-15 samples of your writing

Then to set it up:

1. Download the folder and unzip it anywhere on your computer.

2. Open the Claude desktop app, toggle to Claude Code, then open that folder.

3. Start a new thread in that folder and type /setup

4. Follow the instructions it gives you

That's it.

From there, it builds your voice profile, customer avatars, offer cards, and 10 Commandments.

It will also nudge you to connect your CRM, AI notetaker, and any other tools you might want to incorporate into your email creation workflow.

Then you’re off to the races.

So, coming back to the question at hand…

If you can download and unzip a folder onto your computer, you have all the technical skills you need to install the Skill Stack.

If you’re wondering why Claude Code vs Cowork or Chat…

Here’s the TLDR:

With Chat, you can create a Project and upload files to it that Claude can ‘read’ (aka access).

But Claude can’t WRITE to that Project.

It can’t create any documents within it.

Which means it can’t track what’s been said, written, sent, etc.

Everything lives in the chat transcripts and it’s up for you to extract it and organize it.

Claude Code doesn’t have that problem.

Because it’s working on your local device, it can read all the files inside the workspace AND write to them.

That sounds like a small distinction, but it’s not.

Tell it never to use the word “humdinger” in an email and it can update your voice profile accordingly.

No need to re-upload or re-explain.

Every email you write gets logged along with the angle you used, so next week's email can't repeat it.

And if you point it at a sales page, it'll build you an offer sheet so it stops guessing at your prices.

It’s kinda like the difference between Notepad and Google Docs.

They’re both technically word processors.

But one is WAY more powerful than the other.
