AI slop vs human slop

As you can see…

She claims the presence of the word ‘quiet’ proves my ad was written by AI.

Ironically, most of my ads ARE written by AI these days…

However, this one was not.

Imagine that!

I love how unfathomable it is that one might choose to use the word ‘quiet’ all on their own.

Sigh…

Nevertheless:

People seem to have forgotten that before there was AI slop…

There was human slop.

And looooooots of it.

I’m talking about the firehose of vapid, low-quality, and utterly worthless content that would get churned out by people who had no earthly idea how to write persuasively and sell their stuff to strangers.

And, gun to the head…

Isn’t that the whole reason any entrepreneur publishes content on the internet?

I’m not saying “AI tells” don’t matter or that you shouldn’t aim to cultivate a distinctive voice online…

… I’m saying don’t lose sight of the bigger picture:

Whether the thing actually makes you any money.

You’re running a business, not a charity.

And unless you’re a skilled marketer or copywriter…

Chances are, you need help in that area.

Just because your email is 100% certified organic doesn’t mean squat.

Serious question:

Would you rather send emails that sound EXACTLY like you and sell nothing...

Or ones that make sales and every so often use a word, phrase, or rhetorical device that AI likes too?

It may sound like a false dichotomy…

But increasingly these days, I fear it’s not.

The ad in question is a perfect example.

It’s working and adding new buyers to my email list each day…

Should I turn it off just because it uses a word that makes some people think it was written by AI?

Heck no.

That would be silly.

Ok, I think I’ve made my point.
