I’m a big believer in cultivating skills that intersect with your zone of genius.

Not only do you set yourself apart from the competition…

But you also benefit from a synergistic effect…

Which can compound your results.

Case in point:

For the last 4 years, I’ve been writing Facebook ads for other people.

It’s one of the only advertising platforms where you can have 400-600+ words of copy alongside an image or video…

So knowing how to write them is a huge needle mover.

And I’ve made a lot of money for my clients this way.

Yet I’ve never dug into the creative side.

… Until recently, that is.

Over the past few months, I’ve been slowly learning how to create more sophisticated images as well as edit videos.

And I gotta say…

Whoever said a picture was worth 1,000 words wasn’t kidding lol

You see, I took the time to spin up some graphics for the Email Storyselling Crash Course sales page before launching ads…

Then just used those graphics as my ad creatives.

Here’s an example:

The results?

Stellar so far.

The campaign’s been profitable right out of the gate…

Which was a pleasant surprise…

And my clickthrough rates are WAY higher than I expected…

Especially considering every ad explicitly mentions the price of the product.

(4-5% on unique outbound clicks, if you’re paid ads savvy)

Anyway, as with so many breakthroughs…

I’m kicking myself for not investing the time to get better at creatives sooner.

A takeaway I want to share with you.

Because you (clearly) don’t need Da Vinci-level visual skills to reap the rewards for your newsletter.

Just try communicating some of your key ideas & teachings visually.

If you have literally no idea where to start, just ask ChatGPT.

(That’s what I did.)

It doesn’t have to look pretty or professional.

But these images & videos offer another way to reinforce your message.

And if you’re looking for a simple way to acquire more subscribers and customers…

This is it.

P.S:

The two tools I’ve been using are Canva and SketchWow.

Both are very beginner friendly.

And have lots of templates you can start with.
