True story:

I had a coaching client come to me a while back with a conversion problem.

He'd built out this elaborate welcome sequence for his coaching offer...

But when I dug into it…

I realized the whole thing was spliced together with emails swiped from various marketers…

Including Cole Gordon, Alex Becker, and one or two others…

Frankensteined from start to finish.

And look, I know sequences can be daunting.

When you're staring at a blank page trying to figure out how to structure a 7-email welcome sequence from scratch...

The temptation to just grab what's already working for other people and stitch it together is strong.

And it makes sense in theory, right?

But in this case, nobody was booking calls.

The emails were all over the place tonally and strategically.

Probably because they were written for an audience of ambitious direct response marketers and entrepreneurs in their 30s and 40s eager to scale their business at all costs…

… not comic book collectors in their 50s and 60s looking to offload their collection.

Anyway, what I’m getting at is:

Sequence architecture is crucial.

If you try building a house using blueprints from five different architects, the foundation isn't gonna hold.

Same rule applies when you stitch together emails from different experts... because the pieces weren't designed to work as a system.

And if you've ever Googled "best welcome sequence template"...

Or pulled emails from different courses you bought and tried to make them work together...

You've prob run into the same issue.

The pieces don't fit.

That's where the Sequence Bot inside EmailStoryselling.ai comes in.

It forces you to define the strategic architecture FIRST.

- What's the goal?
- What beliefs need to shift?
- What's the journey you're taking people on?

Then it writes the entire sequence as a unified whole... with consistent voice, strategic flow, and emails that actually build on each other.

So if you want to build sequences that convert instead of frankensteined templates that fall apart...

P.S:

The last few days on safari have been incredible.

I've seen hippos, giraffes, lions, leopards, crocodiles, buffalos and soooo much more.

The crowning jewel so far, though, has been the chimps in Kibale National Park.

It's the largest community of wild chimps anywhere in the world.

And for context - when you go on the trek, they say there's no guarantee how many you're going to see, or even that they'll come down from the treetops.

Plus once you find them, you only get to spend an hour with them before you have to leave.

But we got super lucky.

First, we only had to hike for about 20 minutes before we found them...

(despite being mauled by safari ants on the way lol)

And there ended up being 15-20 of them in a group, swinging around in the trees, fighting, and hanging out at ground level...

Which meant we got to get insanely close to them.

At one point, the alpha chimp descended from his perch and walked right past our entire group.

Literally brushed my leg he was so close!

The whole experience was electrifying.

I could go on for hours about it.

But in lieu of that, here's one of my favorite pics:

Tomorrow is our gorilla trek.

Hard to imagine anything topping the chimp trek experience, but I'm ready haha

Anyhow, to put a bow on this little postscript soliloquy...

Trips like these are one of my biggest motivators when it comes to building an email list.

Being able to create memories like this with my family is the ultimate expression of my core values.

Moreover:

Knowing that my ads and emails continue to make sales for me while I'm nestled up in the Ugandan moutainside gives me a feeling of stability that is hard to put a price on.

So whether or not you share my proclivity for planes, primates, and new places...

Building an engaged email list is the way.
