Happy Monday!

I’m officially back in the saddle after spending two lovely weeks in Spain.

I ate well, drank well, and was blessed with unbelievably nice weather…

But despite many claims to the contrary…

Greece is still the undisputed king of Europe in my books :)

Anyway, onto business:

I got a curious refund request just before I took off…

From someone who bought my book + a $27 order bump.

Here’s what she said:

As you can see…

This person was desperate and expected an AI prompt pack to be some kind of hail mary that would single-handedly turn her failing business around.

Yikes.

So I processed her refund…

But also decided to offer some unsolicited advice along with it.

Specifically:

That no AI prompt is going to single-handedly turn a business around.

And if you’re pinning all your hopes on AI to fix your business, then you’ve got bigger problems to solve.

Then I headed off on vacation.

When I came back, I had a reply waiting from her that nearly made me spit out my coffee.

Check it out:

The plot twist:

This person’s got 70,000 followers on Instagram yet still can’t afford to buy a $27 product.

You can’t make this stuff up lol

Truth is, it’s sad.

And it illustrates the difference between a following and an audience.

You see, most creators obsess over growing their follower count thinking that's the answer.

They assume once they hit some magical number (10k, 50k, 100k, etc) the money will automatically follow.

Spoiler alert:

It doesn't.

Having a following won’t pay the bills.

But an audience will.

You can have 70,000 people who love your content but won't spend a dime…

Or you can have 700 subscribers who eagerly buy everything you create.

The difference comes down to how you position yourself from Day 1:

Are you training people to expect everything for free?

Or are you establishing clear boundaries between free vs paid?

This is precisely why traditional value-driven newsletters struggle to monetize.

They teach people the complete ‘how-to’ for free each week…

Then wonder why nobody wants to pay for their courses or coaching.

You've simply trained your audience to wait for the next free tutorial…

Just like we trained my old Portuguese water dog growing up that he’d get a frozen bagel every time the grooming table came out.

(didn’t take long for that to become a problem either lol)

This is why Email Storyselling takes a different approach.

Every email demonstrates your expertise and shares valuable insights…

But you're showing people the ‘what’ instead of giving away the ‘how-to.’

You're revealing the problems they need to solve…

The beliefs they need to shift…

The strategies that actually work…

Without handing them the step-by-step implementation guide.

That's what they pay for.

And when you do this consistently…

You don't need 70,000 followers to build a thriving business.

You just need a few hundred people who actually buy.

P.S:

Next week, tickets will go on sale for a new live workshop I’m doing called:

“Insane Ideation”

Inside, I’ll be revealing how to generate 30 conversion-focused story ideas in 30 minutes without wasting time on market research or audience interviews.

Because not all stories are created equal.

So if you’ve ever struggled to come up with strong story ideas…

Failed to make sales from your list when the chips are down…

Or wished you could seamlessly connect the dots between your story and your offer without sounding salesy or sacrificing conversions…

Then you won’t want to miss this one.

Stay tuned for more :)
